Are you checking the oil level with the tractor sitting on the same place every day? Just s small change in tilt - fore-aft or side-side - can have a major effect on the engine oil level.

This is what I have noticed with a friends Deere. The dip stick is slightly ahead of center of the engine length and tight to one side. So the least little change in tractor level, changes the oil level a lot.
As far as the white smoke it could be normal. As long as it is not getting a ton of air out the oil breather or some other sign of failure, fuel mixed in with the oil, etc.
