SA250 Lincoln Welder Diesel
Hi Neighbors--My first try on this site..
I have a SA 250 Lincoln welder with a 152 Perkins that is blowing oil out of the dipstick tube. The gauge shows 70 lbs. of oil pressure, which seems high to me.
I just got this machine, which has been setting up for probable 2 years in a barn. I have done extensive work on the welder , which now welds like a dream. Now I have to address the engine problem. The engine starts instantly, and runs very quitely, with no odd noises. Could this possibly be the pressure valve in the oil pump? Thanks for any thoughts------Ray

Oil pressure is created by the tight tolerances of the rotating components and size of the spray nozzles, if equipped. I wouldn't be too concerned with the oil pressure. I would be more concerned with the crankcase pressure and oil level. Does your oil level get higher without adding oil? Are you getting any air coming out of your crankcase vent tube?
