Oil prices are falling, and layoffs have started

I had started a thread a while back with the same title as this one, and I can't find it now. When I do a google search, I find links to it, but when I click on the link, I get a page that says I do not have permission to view this page.

What happened to that thread? Was it deleted by administrators? If so, why? If it was, I'm not going to argue about why, but just want to know for future reference.

Anyway, another large employer in our area announced 11,000 layoffs today due to falling oil prices.

Supposedly there are more than 105,000 laid off and Schlimberger's announcement adds that 11k to the tally. But there are many more effected in fleet and service areas of the industry beyond these numbers.

And then there is another really big group . . . All the farmers and families and homeowners who have oil rights participation in the leases to their mineral rigjts. Typically 18% of gross production income after drilling completef . Imagine all the layoff issues this creates . . again not reportdd.
