I have a Yanmar YM2000 tracctor. After engine warmup I notice an oil leak which appears to be coming from around the oil sender switch.

Is the remedy to replace this switch? If so, is there a speacial procedure to do this? Is a replacement switch available?

From your description "sender switch" I am assuming that you have an oil pressure light only. I know that there are a number of after market auto type oil pressure gages which can be adapted to your metric fitting. If it continues to leak, you might remove it, clean it, put sealant around it (Permatex non-hardening), and reinstall it. If it keeps leaking after that, I'd suggest the pressure gage. You'll be happier to know the exact pressure at all times./w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif

Usually when those sending units leak, the leak is coming from where the electrical part is crimped to the metal housing. The only repair is to replace the switch. But they're not expensive, and any place that carries parts for Yanmar should have it in stock.

One thing that we have found when replacing those senders is that it is important to use a "sending unit" socket. It is made to fit the unusual shape of most sending units. If you use a wrench or standard socket; the sender will distort a little and you will be putting in another one in a few days. I think the socket was only a couple bucks.
