I am getting ready to do my 50 hour service and was wondering, just where is the transmission oil strainer? The manual says to clean it but doesnt tell where it is, just shows the two bolts underneath to drain the fluid.

I am not sure on your 5500, but my 6520 has the transmission and hydraulic reservoir combined. So I have a transmission & hydraulic suction strainer. It is located under the tractor, on the left side just forward of the draw bar mount. It is a pain to get to, as I have the BH subframe under there also. It is on the list of things to check and clean in my 50 hour inspection in the Ops manual. It has four bolts and is about 3.5-4 inch square plate.gtater said:I am getting ready to do my 50 hour service and was wondering, just where is the transmission oil strainer?
