I just bought a 1960 ford 621 backhoe and was wondering what weight is recommended for this machine. I did change the oil Rotella. Im in NY and use it around yard all year long.
Thanks

They used 15w40 Rotella in all thier fords where I worked.

Another post in this section was saying that Walmart has 5w40 Rotella at a reduced price. I'd say this is an ideal weight range for all folks unless you're in the far north of Canada. The manuals won't cover this oil because it wasn't invented back then. Most gas engines around can run 5w30. The 5w40 is better for diesels where there's potentially more stress on the bearings.
