Here we are in the Stanley Cup Finals. Nice place to be eh? Sadly our Roloson is out for the rest of the series /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif which puts us in a bit of a bad position. I'm hoping that we can compensate and pick up the game a little.

The Premier of Alberta has a bet with the NC Governor that involves beef or something and the Mayor or Raleigh and Edmonton have a bet of a case of beer. Now that's a HOCKEY bet!!!

Ok, I'll play. I figure this is a related topic 'cause there probably IS something I shoulda been doing with the tractor instead of watchin' the boob tube. But hey, a guy's gotta have some down time and if that wild Game 1 is any indication, it looks to be a great Final! We were sorry to see our Sabres go down to injuries but they played their hearts out all the way thru Game 7 last round. Now for ED it's too bad about losing Rollie, he's been playing very, very well and we used to cheer him way back when he was with the Amerks. Seems like NC is getting some breaks in that sense and I wonder if they'd have advanced as far as they have if they faced full strength teams and didn't have Cam Ward in the net. Man that kid is a phenom, sometimes I think he IS the team. Whoever takes the Cup, it has been great having the NHL back and watching the playoffs in HD. Well, except whenever they do a close-up of Brind'amour on the big screen. My oldest boy says he's so ugly he musta got hit by a tractor as a youth. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Yes, he is playing amazing well. Bit of a local story for him too. He is from a suberb of Edmonton here and his family is all here. In fact there are 3 Hurricanes whose families are from Edmonton or surrounding area. Kind of makes it hard for them to decide who to cheer for!!

I'm sure with your son on his take on Brind'amour too! He is one nasty lookin' dude. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I have never really liked him at all, so having him stuff the puck in for the winner last game was a little salt on the wounds.
