OK--What\'s cookin\' here
Fellow Posters,
So far I have been very happy with my 4520. Only one or two small problems have occurred. First, my air filter restriction light on the dash comes on after 5-10 minutes operation. Not sure why, I can find no reason that it would. I even changed the sensor, still comes on, tractor runs OK. Second, and more importantly, when starting the tractor, two large plumes of smoke, one from the exhaust (normal) and one from either the turbo inlet or exhaust manifold. Actually comes out from underneath the side fairing of the hood. Will stop once warmed up, and tractor runs OK (although there seems to be a continual strong smell of diesel when operating). Is this normal, or could I have a leaky exhaust gasket??? I have checked all obvious hoses without a plain culprit noted. My local dealer is a small dealer, and will keep my machine forever if I take it down, so I want to make sure this is not a normal variant that is seen in this machine before I commit to being without a tractor for three weeks. A little frustrating, as the tractor has only 12 hours on it now, and otherwise runs great.
