5) Sell vehicle for what is owed. If you sell it for more, that goes to the previous owner.

Pretty much exept there is no title on tractors.

Sure hope you have a clear set of storage and "compensation for time-wasted" charges that are added to you repair bill.

This guy is unbelievable and I agree with Alpocat, he probably has trouble on more than one front because his "do-unto-others" bill is long past due (and maybe he couldn't pay cash there either).

jlsmith, hats off to you and your first class treatment of this loser. I admire your patience.

Bob

That gets a bit tricky. Since you have to present the repair order, you can't really change it once you start the process. But, you can make a bunch of that up in $20-25 a day in storage X30 days. That's $750 at $25/day. I don't know about adding charges at the end for your time/effort dealing with the whole lein business.

True i cant change the repair bill nor would I try. I can (like you said) add 30 days of storage and a cleaning cost and a commision cost of 10% of what i sell it for which is what i get on all commision sales. any thing left over i would be glad to give back to the customer. Heck maybe he is sick or something but if he would atleast call me and let me know what was going on i would work out something with him. Maybe a payment plan if he didnt have the money(of course the tractor would have to stay her until it was paid for) Im not a hard man to work with just meet me half way. I dont think that is to much to ask for.

What is unfortunate in this is that it is all so unneccesary and a general waste of time and energy.
I mean, none of us are saints but there are times to just plain old admit whatever something is and pay the price.
Usually that works better for me.
We all have bigger fish to fry in life.

Been around a lot of tractors, never seen one with a gasketed bellhousing.
Much less one with a plug in it. I have seen a small hole near the front though. Enabling any water or oil to excape. With only that many hours on it it is obvious it sits most of the time. By not running it the metal never warms enough to dry out, just the sweating and keeping the moisture in will cause what you have there.

Sweating causes beads, that is what I mostly see there.

Yea and being under water will cause that also. Ive been around a few tractors myself and have seen more than one with a gasketed bellhouseing. We all agree the tractor doesnt run as much as the customer says it does.
