PILK!!!!

Great followup on the reviews...... Thanks very much..

Again, I'm probably still gona stick wth the 2350, but the 7510 sure sounds nice. I'd love to have a more powerful FEL, but I keep telling myself, the BX's capacity is going to be so much better than my wheel barrow with 2 ft. power.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

The only problem with the group purchase, is one of us would have to come up with all the cash.. Financing would be difficult, because both of the machines must be in the same name / address. Therefore one would have to pay for one up front, or I suppose we could draw up a contract to pay so much per month. But, it probably wouldn't be worth the risk or the hassle to save only 300.00 per machine, plus I don't have 12K cash unless I'm willing to drain the bank account. I like to have a little stash on hand for emergencys. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif... So for me, I'd have to get a personal loan which would then cost more than the $300.00 I'd save.

Can you check with your northern dealer on the price for 2 machines or PM me their #. I'm in Central IL, so it's very possible that they are much closer to me than AR....

Again, thanks for the follow up..

And btw, what's wrong with Muscl FORD /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll be talking to them tomorrow. I will let them know I have another possible customer for them if they are interested. I'll check on the BX and the B. I know they were 600 more than the AR dealer though. So they probably can't get there but you never know. It can't hurt to ask. BTW...if I had a finished yard and was just going to mow and do light work around the property I would stick with the BX and put the extra money into something else, like a bagger system. However, my new property needs some work. I need something that will handle some uneven ground and general cleanup. I'm sure I will have to keep the MMM off for a lot of the work. Look for a post tomorrow.

Well I checked on the Turf Special in Georgia...yep, $12900 for a Turf Special B7510 HSDTR, 60" Suspended deck (I think it may be the BX deck but not sure). 272 Loader, R4 Tires. One left, any orders after that one come in at $13600, which still isn't bad considering the best B7510 HSD, 272 FEL, 60"mmm price I've gotten to date is $14200. Can't for the life of me figure out why the Turf Special can be that much less...maybe partly the lighter deck but not $1300 worth.

The Turf Special allows the deck to be adjusted with a bracket on the back of the tractor vs. resetting the deck wheels on the non Turf Special. You still have to get off the tractor but atleast you don't have to adjust the wheels every time. Both decks are substantial but the B is definately heavy duty, while the BX is somewhat lighter made. Still a solid deck.

Now the catch...how to get a tractor from Atlanta to Springfield, MO without eating up the savings. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Ground contact MMM's have to be of heavier construction inorder to support the wheels and take the beating.

I went through a similar situation about 1.5 yrs ago. I 'd test out a B7510, then a B7610 then a BX2230. I had heard about the Turf Special but it wasn't due to be released till April/May of 05 and I needed to make a move in Dec 04. I would have given it a very hard look had it been out.
Back & forth I went. I probably made 4 visits before I decided that the floating MMM would fare much better finish mowing my rough former pasture and garden back acreage. And it has. It's also given a commercial lawn mower quality cut on my nice front lawn too.

Oh and btw, at approx 260lbs the 60" BX MMM is plenty hardy /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's what I am thinking. Is that 60"MMM the BX type mower? If I can my dealer to cooperate I may go Turf Special.

Goss will provide you a GREAT deal on transportation. Tell them that you will buy it if they can work out a deal.

Been following this thread with some interest, Pilk, as our mowing needs are similar. Was looking at a couple of different BXs and then the B models. Lots of BXs here but no 7510s or Turf Specials.

Asked my favorite salesman about the Turf Special; he was rather dismissive. He thought the suspended mower and the 3pt. linkage used to raise and lower it was Mickey Mouse and below Kubota's usual standards. "You don't want that.", were his words. One point I could relate to was that the 3pt. hitch was quite limited in it's usefulness with the mower linkage in place. If you wanted to use the 3pt. hitch extensively, it appeared that not only the mower, but also the raise/lower linkage would have to be removed...at least that's what I understood. Guess they had one on the lot and it took awhile to sell; so no more. Maybe a Turf Special owner could step in here and set the record straight...I'm just repeating what my pea brain thought it understood /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Anywho, a new B7610 was parked nearby while we were having this discussion, so I asked for a quote on that machine with LA352 loader and 60"MMM. Came to $15750 for the B7610 wearing Turfs, LA352 Loader, RCK60-24B 60" MMM and ballast box.

Does anyone know whether the RCK60 MMM is one of the "Drive Over" mowers?

I'd probably opt for a Box Blade instead of the ballast box and have the tires filled, but I didn't think that was too bad. On paper the B7610/LA352 combination is strong.

With Turf Tires, will the machine have enough traction to do anything besides mow? Should I hold out for R4s on this tractor? Snow removal (using a blower), grading and possibly tilling are in the future for this machine. I have an L4300 with R1s for the heavy work, but it's not always on-site.

Not to hijack the thread or anything /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I believe the 72" MMM is the only drive over. The 60" like the 54" slides under on pivoting depth wheels.

I would also recommend going w/a box blade over a weight box. The box blade along with the filled rears will provide more rear ballast than the weight box plus you get the utility of the box blade. A weight box is just that....
I have the rears filled on my BX23 and I have had no problems transporting a full FEL around.
I've read several posters here who have reported no problems w/turfs on their B series tractors. W/ differential lock and 4wd you should be able to get out of most situations should they arrise. When I was shopping, I was looking at the R4's should I have went with either the B7510 or B7610.

I've only seen one Turf Special and that was after I had my BX23. There are a few posters here ww/ them so perhaps they'll contribute.

Enjoy the process

Wow...anyone know for sure you would have to take off the MMM and rear bracket to use the 3 point? That would be nuts. I have to talk to the salesman tomorrow to find out for sure. If that's the case then I don't think that makes much sense. Anyone with a Turf Special care to share. Chrishyde, where are you? Just about pulled the trigger but glad I held off.
