That very well could be as it does have a nice nub on it at the round end. Now it makes sense that it was positioned in a wall. There are two nubs at the square end. Maybe that is what kept it in place. Here is a side shot of it.

My guess is a gadget to attach to your downspout to save the rain water.

It's the bilge breather for a very early power boat, designed to scoop air and pass it to the bilge area to blow out gas fumes. It wasn't designed to pass through a wall, but a deck. My confidence level is a bit lower than .6 /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
