I'm on a small spread in Oklahoma, the sprouts are really growing, we've had 15 in. of rain in the last month. I'm trying to figure out which brand heavy duty rotary mower to purchase. Of course, like everybody else, I want the best mower for the best price. Above all, I need dependability. I have always bought John Deere, but am open to other suggestions.

Thanks, Pat Martens

We had an old Mowhawk that was durable, but really didn't cut all that well. Replaced it with a JD heavy duty (sandstone outcrop of the Talawanda syncline is hard on mowers) and have been pleased with the cut. But, it wasn't cheap.

15 inches of rain in the last month!! Send some down to me. I finally got 2" yesterday; first measurable rain since last September. No grass to mow and even trees were beginning to die off at my weekend place in the woods.
