Hey I have an old (home made looking hand me down) roto cutter that has 3 parts to the blade.
the one center piece mounted to the main shaft and the actual blades are a replaceable tip about 12" long.
Problam is I can't get the center piece off the darn drive shaft. I think maybe its just been on so long it's rusted to the shaft. or is threaded on.?? any Ideas on how to get it off without killing my self. I'll try to take pic tonight so it makes more sence. But if I can't get the mane section off the pto motor shaft , I'll have to cutt a whole from the top to gain access to the nut(s) holding the blade tips on. Then make a patch for the new access whole yuk /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. That might be the best long term solution but I hate the idea that the access port could fly off if some thing were to realy smack it hard /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Just to clarafy the bolt holdong the tips on are the type with smooth heads like you use in deck framing and there is realy no real room to access with a big wrench. say 1-1/2" to 2" max. Maybe some more liquid wrench or wd40 or propane tourch to heat it and bang on it some more?
