Old big red..blast from the past

The R that I had was air cooled I ended up with a good collection of melted pistons and scored jugs. Had to run it extra rich to keep it from melting. Also I could not keep rear axle bearings in it either. The Tecate ended up slinging the magnets off of the fly wheel.

You guys are just too young...

I learned to ride on a Trail 90. Would love to have one today...

The Honda CT-90 Page

As I remember it, the first ATCs were 2-wheelers with balloon tires -- little 50cc and 70cc versions or something like that, with big tires, that would do about 35 MPH at most. I dated a gal for a while whose family had two of them -- they were fun in a campground or something like that. Not enough power for the mountain trails that I rode, though...

Still got my old 79 110,needs some love. But the old Yamaha tri moto 200 is runnin strong. Started out on an atc 90,thought I was the man when the 110 showed up with the high and low range and all. Good memories. Dads best friend had an 85 250 r that he put street tires on and I swear that thing did 100 mph

Yep, my old 1966 model (I think, may have actuallly been a '65) CT-90 used the dual sprockets -- 38 MPH with the engine screaming on the large sprocket, but about 68 to 70 MPH if you leaned over the handlebars with the small one... maybe 72 MPH on a good day with a tail wind...

The later models with the real high/low were the cat's meow in comparison to switching sprockets...

Nice! Here's a pic of my two-wheeler! BTW, I started on a new, early 70's Honda Z50...the one with the folding handlebars and the 3-speed automatic.
