I still have shoe laces, use hide glue for some projects, french polish and ride a pushbike.

Mom's Cotton Hoe ,Cotton Scale,dough board and dough rolling pin. She owned the scale,dough board and rolling pin before I was born during WWII. When she wore out the hoe brought from the farm,she refused to settle for hoes carried by hardware stores and garden centers. She got on the phone and located this hoe 25 miles away. The dough board is simply the piece cut out of butcher block counter for sink when granddad built his new home. Granddad carved the rolling pin. The scale was used to weigh cotton on our farm. Needless to say,I enjoy using these things with so much family history but the scale has been fun in an unrelated way. Also known as steelyard balance scale and pea scale,they are well known for accuracy. I take them to hunting and fishing camp where there's often debate over the weight of fish and game. If there's discrepancy between the new sportsman's scale and my 100 year old scale,how long can it be until bets are down? Supermarket mgrs have a dim view when it come's to weighing dead fish and deer hindquarters on their scales so we devised a compromise. Buy something and weigh it in store then compare back at camp.

You Canuck's can use CHU Canada on Frequency 3.33 MHz, 7.85 MHz, 14.67 MHz.

I don't have a shortwave radio anymore, but ISTR CHU being 7.33 mHz, did they change frequencies or is my recollection muddy?

One of these will fix you up. Never need setting. So called "atomic clocks". Again using the WWV signal.

I don't have a shortwave radio anymore, but ISTR CHU being 7.33 mHz, did they change frequencies or is my recollection muddy?

They changed several years ago. I am not sure why.

Many of us are in that group as well or at least are headed that way. When I was younger I did not understand why older men wore suspenders..... Suspenders, now there is something pertinent to the thread that no one mentioned. ...... Suspenders..what your pants hang onto

I never noticed this phenomenon until I began walking out of my shorts or pants or they would just fall down. The Wife pointed out this flat bottom problem and bought me several belts.
