Help i have an old cyclone spreader it says turf spread oo it. It is driven by a cable from the tractor pto instead of a drive shaft. Long story short cable broken on the end that hooks to tractor pto shaft. It has been welded together by whom ever owned it before me and I've had it welded twice.
My question is does anybody know where i could get a new cable made for it. This is a very good spreader and i want to fix it if possible.

Thanks Richard

Any pictures? How does shaft attatch to spreader? Could you just have a regular square tube shaft installed (like on a mower?) or something from a place like Tractor Supply? I guess the cable is the weak point (instead of having shear pin).

I will try to take pictures when i can. The cable runs from the tractor pto and turns and comes up under the hopper and mounts in a bracket and the spreader plate screws into the end of the cable. There's no way to use and drive line without totally redesighning the whole spreader. I really thought somebody had probably seen a spreader like this. When i was growing up back in Missouri I saw them a lot. Like i said its very old.

Richard,

I just found an old cyclone spreader that may have the same issue with this unique connection to the PTO. Where you ever successful in getting your spreader fixed?
Thanks,
Mark
