Mfrost and Kubotajoe created superb-quality access steps for their tractors. I'm envious.

I was staring at a scrap transmitter panel and a light bulb went on - it was just the right size for a step. I took the recipro saw and started hacking it up.

The front of the step is secured where a notch at the back of a sloping loader bracket, engages a notch I cut near the middle of the step. The back folds over the bar going to the rear axle, and is tied down with a hose clamp on tabs I left for that purpose.

This step works fine but I think I will duplicate it in heavier material and weld that one in place. Finally I can step off the tractor, instead of leaping.

I know how you feel about leaping. I had the dealer lower the step on my 4320 by making a pair of flat brackets out of 1/8" plate, and attach them to the OEM brackets. In my case, it's a bad-back step, although my doctor says it's a fat-guy step. :(
