I know it sounds silly but I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and see places like they were totally naturally. Imagine the sights and flora and fauna! And the fishing!

100 years from now people will look back at our generation and probably say wow look at the forest when all they can see is a 1/2 acre parcel of woods.....

I'm not sure. Around here pine trees are a primary crop that is planted and it is managed just like corn crop would be. Very scientific these days. Now I do agree that what they will see are forests that are much more sterile than the forest we grew up around. Straight lines, uniformed sizes and such. Trees for pulp are harvested in 12-15 years now and it is hard to watch loads of twigs rather than logs on trucks running down the the roads.

It surely is amazing some of the logs they show in the early photos. And, using hand tools to harvest without a Kubota, unbelievable. ;)

I would have loved to see those trees in that era. One can only imagine. Had to be quite a few " Widow Makers" back then.............

Hey JimmyJ... she's an Irish Clydesdale and she's my baby... hence the name Baby O'Baby.... JK...

Got this in email from my brother a while back. I did a little google check on it and they say it's a photoshop...it's a hoot though... I whip it out when the occasion presents itself.

That van's not too far from the St. John.
