Your right Bird the picture was taken in January and the temp was in the 30's, pretty cold for this part of NC....today is was in the mid 80's with clear blue skies, a prefect day for mowing. We have had plenty of rain this year so have been mowing every week.... Wally

Nice picture, nice dog! I love the dogs. Sorry about the temperature Bird. While it gets hot where I am, it almost always cools down every evening. Living in the foothills east of Sacramento, we get breezes almost every evening coming in from the ocean via the delta. Those days, evenings when we don't get it, it gets pretty hot. Rat...

Rat, my buddy Sparky is 15 years old, I think in dog years that makes him 105....he still is very active for his age and loves to follow the tactor wherever we go....his pace is a lot slower but still loves to chase rabbits and whatever else that moves..the lizards drive him crazy, and when he gets tired he lays in the shade and gaurds the domain, he is part beagle and part shepard.....

Wally, thats fantastic. There is nothing that pleases and makes me happier then seeing a dog enjoy themselves. It always lifts my heart regardless of the day I've had. I had 3 Labs, 2 yellows and a chocolate. One was my mothers and when she passed away she asked that I look after her. A little over 3 weeks ago my very special yellow Lab was hit by a car. We lost him later in the evening. My heart is still broken and I still cry about losing him. His name was Moses. He was 6 1/2 yrs old. I miss him as much or more as I have in losing any of my family members. Even writing this it still chokes me up. Here is a picture I took of him many years ago. He is on top. My mothers dog is on the bottom. They were from the same liter, Rat.

We must be sentimental fools... my eyes welled up reading your story and looking at your picture...

If someone never owns a dog... they just will never know...

You would have to be hard pressed to find anything more loyal than a dog... [emotioncon with a tear on it's cheek...]

Rat you are right about losing a dog, it is like one of the family and you really never get over the loss. If only humans were as loyal as dogs this would be a better place to live and there would be less tension among people.
If a Dog were our teacher:
We would learn to avoid biting when a simple growl would do.
We would learn to never pretend to be something we aren't.
We would learn to be loyal.
We would learn that when we are happy we would dance around and wag our entire body.
