Old question probably - Tiller, disk or plow???

Looking at your bio, I noticed you don't have any of the attachments you asked about, so I'm assuming you plan to buy something and aren't sure which to buy.

I considered a tiller first, but after priceing and reading some of the threads on them, I backed away from that method.

I used a plow on a friends Kubota years ago and then disked aftewards. The plow didn't make that big a difference compared to the land we didn't plow first while using the disk.

I bought a five foot disk used from the local classifieds for $300.

After mowing real good and clearing the larger branches and rocks, I started pulling my disk. The first couple passes hardly do anything, but the secret with the disk attached to a three point hitch is to keep going over the same land.

No amount of extra weight made a difference in my observations.

It still takes many, many passes to break everything up. The hitch limits the amount of depth you can get along with the size of the disks themselves.
