old tractor prices

I can't help you with tractor values, but I'll bet that old farmstead has some stories to tell. Neat looking place!

I can't help with the prices either, but I will say that I think it might be worth it to get a good mechanic out there to see if he can get them both to at least crank up. If you are intent on selling them, it would definitely help increase their value if a buyer can see/hear the engine running. Of course, if they won't run then you would be out whatever he charges.

As for the farm, yeah that old barn and the outbuildings are cool, they're built like log cabins.

Non running tractors are worth scrap iron prices, unless you find a person willing to pay more. Neither are overly rare.

A tractor person looking for a project may pay more, but (imho) 3-500 is top dollar.

If you have a pair of hands available I would be tempted to give each of them a tug start once just to see if they are able to run without spending anything/much. Just check there is some oil, fresh fuel and air in the tyres (tires). If they burst into life you have won, if not tow them back out of the way and decide what to do next.

I sold my collection of old tractors (1945 Oliver 60, 1948 Farmall Cub, 1949 JD B, 1951 Minneapolis Moline BF, 1951 Farmall Super A, 1964 MF135 diesel) last month when I sold the ranch. Listed them on Craigslist. Had them all sold in less than 2 weeks. One buyer took four of them off my hands. YOu never know who's going to show up with a pocket full of cash. My neighbor bought my big tractor (2008 Mahindra 5525 with 210 hours) and drove it home so I didn't even have to list it on CL.

A couple of weeks ago, I checked out the Young Farmer's Auction on Maryland's Eastern Shore... there were several really rough, busted and rusty old tractors there, none of which looked like they could go anywhere under their own power, and I was told they would sell for good money to folks who restore them as a hobby. Go figure.

if non running.. a max of 500$ each usually less.

if they run, then hit auction sites and for sale lists in your area, and get an idea of what they go for, then list on the high side of that.

Excellent rear tyres on both of them. Whoever put those on expected to get a good deal more running out of them. You really need to find out why they don't run.

They are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them .

Just slap a random price on them, write up everything you know about them and stick them on Craigslist. They might sell tonight or next month and you may be surprised how much you got for them. Collectors look everywhere for projects. Soundguy said shoot for $500 a piece so I would say ask $1000 each and let someone bargain me down.

Thanks for all your replys,only bought the ranch in june last year and spent weekends there, what with trying to tidy up and doing some haymaking have not had time to look at them,now wont be back there untill spring (lots of snow)will probably try to get them going and sell on craigslist or auction.

If one of them is a nice runner, it might be a benefit to keep around for the odd job when you need to leave an attachment semi permanently on one tractor and have another running around. (like a log splitter or saw bench etc. or where one tractor has a trailer and another a hay turner or whatever). If you already own it and it goes it might be a decent power unit?

Just a thought.

Fairly old tractors (running, preferrably diesel) are worth a bundle and will increase in value as owners come to the realization that the blue fuel capped diesel tractors are junk.

If not runing, just put up local adds for parting out your machines. You will get more that way, if you are not in a hurry to get them out of your sight.
Then later, bring them to the graveyard, if no other avenue...
First find out what year and model!
