I have been able to keep my old HH60 running just fine. The oil level is very important. Fill it to the mark with the engine block level, not the tiller level. With the tiller level it can look like the engine is full on about 1/2 the oil. That is not good. The same might go for the Honda. These engines sit at an angle when on the tiller.

I just replaced my old HH60 with a Harbor Freight 212 Predator engine. After spending lots of money over the years to keep the old Tecumseh running, I thought I'd see how the Predator does. The installation was very easy and it has more power than what it ever had. Smooth, starts on the first pull and was only $120. I would easily swap over the the Predator before I'd spend another dime on the old HH60...

simple, the govenor isnt working. im guessing i spelled that right. the govenor will open the throttle to keep the engine rpm up. as engine rpm drops the gov. will open the throttle to maintain rpm. same way a lawn mower engine works.
