Old truck adventures

That is a Ford Motorsport crate 392 C.I. The car came stock with a 289. My dad just gave me a '65 convertible Mustang that sat in his dirt floor barn for about 15 years. It wasn't much to look at before it got stored. I would show you a picture, but it is just a pile of rusted bolts. My brother drove the car when he was in high school, and it has been in the family for at least twenty years. I feel some sort of obligation to restore it. I am not even a Ford guy. My first hot rod was a Chevelle, but as expensive as this restoration is getting, I can tell you what my last hot rod will be.

I'm always amazed by pics of clean cars! Before working on the truck I have to scrape off an inch of grease/dirt/dung before I can even SEE metal! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

I looked for the manual. I don't have one, sorry /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif. The earliest I go back for trucks is early to mid sixities. From early to mid seventies on I have tons of books. You can have all the dust you want /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

Try this <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.4door.com/chrysler_factory_auto_repair_manual.htm>link</A>. They claim to be factory service mauals. Seem a little steep on price.

Take care.

Derek -- Thanks! It may be steep, but not nearly as steep as stab in the dark repairs can be at times! I went ahead and ordered one.

Cool... Let me know how you like it. Sound like it is supposed OEM and CD Rom. My Alldata software I use for work mid 80's and newer is mostly OEM stuff too. Might be kinda cool on a PC. Print out what you need and take it out to the truck, don't have to worry about dirty pages.

Just beginning to turn now, with the usual isolated bunches of wild color. Can never believe the tourism bureau (they always predict a magnificent display) nor the tv news (they always predict gloom and doom)...but it will be interesting to see what the strange weather of the past couple of years will do.
