Older 7 iron decks

hi jd670, concerning the mower axels click on to larrys mower axels in kennys answer above and then click on john deere stands in the middle and go to item #45. there are pictures of the axels on my old deck and also on your 7iron deck. i have the front hitch with the 72d mmm. there are two different sets of mounting brackets for the front hitch, one for the 72 7iron and the other for the 72d quick attach mower. they replace the long lift arms held on with the 2 pins on your front hitch. i think nuru had posted pictures of his setup with the 7iron on his 3000 series or find his postings thru one by acolar where he discusses his 366 front blade. hope this helps.......bud

Thanks, that helped alot. Larrys' axels might be the way to go when cutting season is over. I checked my front hitch kit and it came with the correct brackets for the mmm that I have.

They get a hundred bucks for two 3/4" tubes, two lawn mower wheels and a swival caster ? I built mine years ago out of spare parts laying around.
