Have had two Cadets (now a 782) since 1976.
75% time non starting is some almost invisible corriosion on the points.
I take off the cover, run some fine sandpaper (600-800) thru them, forcefully, and it usually starts.
Thinking of leaving the points cover off, happens so often.
Note that front screw for points cover must be in place even if cover is off, or crankcase pressure slowly covers everything with oil. Took me a while to figure this out.
