Older Mahindra 485 Transmission Jammed?

I have a Mahindra 485 2WD probably 70's or 80's vintage. The other day out of the blue - the transmission shifter seems to have "become a little loose". In short I cant really get it to shift into any real gear but when I force it a little - the transmission seems to be jammed - and it will kill the engine. If I leave it in neutral - the tractor runs fine in Reverse. Anyone have any ideas?

A little loose ? Detentsprings in softcover broke ! Next step is gears that lock (going in gear that should stay where they are)

Remove gearlever then get all gates in a row and put gearlever back . Locking will happen again.
To repair it those Springs needs replacing

When removing gearshiftcover take note to Mark all inside before loosening shifterforks...even thoses thin plates !
