Ditto. We just buried our 16 year old rescued greyhound out back under the apple tree, next to her sister.. too bad we can't go there too some day.

Weed, now that is hitting too close to home. BUT 16 years ... thats about 6 bonus years methinks for the greys. Our 2 racers are 7 and 5. The 7 y.o. is having seizures though.

The CEO will never be able to deal with his passing.

The Junkster had a racer for 19. We should all be so lucky.

Pete - Did you make the stones yourself or buy them. Our cocker turns 16 in July. Although she is still in pretty good health, the years are now starting to take their toll. This is my wife's last "baby" and she is dreading it. And I have to admit that I am very attached to her myself. We plan to bury her up on the "farm" where we will eventually move and I would like to come up with a nice marker.

I've seen pet markers at various flea markets in our area. They have a wide range of them for all kinds of pets. People sell them as out of the home kind of business.

We're going to a local flea market this Sunday that I know I've seen them at in the past. I don't know if these people ship or not, but if I see them there, I'd be happy to get information for you. Might even take a few pics to post if you'd like.

I too am very sorry to hear about your pup. Dogs ain't dogs anymore, they are family members, sure is tough to see them pass to a better place.

Garry - Thanks. I saw some similar markers/stones at our local flea market last weekend. But my wife was with me and I did not want to stop and ask about a custom made marker for our dog. Even though she knows the time is not far away, she doesn't like to think about it. I will try to discretely slip away and ask them about it next time.
We were discussing it a couple weeks ago and I felt it was the right time to mention that I was considering building a nice box to bury her in (the dog, not my wife). She said to go ahead but just don't let her (my wife) see it.

Our golden Belle died last November and we all still miss her terribly. We have an eight month old golden now that my wife is finally starting to get attached to.....Skye finally stopped doing all those puppy things, like eating the mail /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif. It just doesn't seem logical to me that we can become so attached to a dog that they affect us this way. All I know is that they are unbelieveably loyal and are always happy to get whatever time they can just to play. Lots of days I just couldn't ask for anything more from a friend.

Our prayers are with you and Tamara and Oliver and all your other goldens.
