A friend at work is selling a roto-tiller made by Oliver that was made in the early eighties. I haven't seen it yet since it just came up in during a conversation today. (He going to bring in some pictures) Does anyone have any experience with this brand during that time frame? I've searched the net an I haven't found much.

Thanks

I have no experience with them but I would seriously check out the availibility of parts before investing much. A tiller of that vintage has more than likely been there and back.

If it was made in the 80s it would not be connected to the company that made Oliver tractors. They were bought out by White in the early 60s and the name went away in the mid-70s when they all became Whites.

There is a guy up here that has one for sale and when I was talking to him I asked about it since I never saw one like that. He said it was one heavy tiller and you needed a good size tractor if you were going to use that tiller on any slope as it lightened the nose of the tractor a lot and going up a hill would lift the front tires of a Massey Ferguson 135 off the ground.

They look like they are built soundly but I already have a tiller and didn't need another one. The one here is a belt drive setup.

Oliver 28472 is correct. The Oliver name disappeared in 1974, and they never made a tiller.
