OMG, already thinking of winter

I do like driving with bald tires as it makes you drive very carefully and with great attention to conditions. Something few people here do, at any time.

5 below this morning, high of 50 degrees tomorrow. It's a bipolar fall... 20191107_144255.jpeg

That's when you realize you live "up north". When you have snow tires that you swap on/off your vehicle. :D

I did get the winter ice tires on the wife's car a week ago. It is amazing how good they are on ice, even compared to all-season tires.

Took a few minutes to go 'pre-treat' the driveway with what little salt I have on hand. Hoping that will help keep it from being a sheet of ice in the morning, but at a forecast 15 degrees, hoping may not help.

Why not drive slow with fresh rubber?

You can do both at the same time :drink:

Too many areas of my life where I can spend money. And since I only spend money that I have, I am limited. I keep having to add air to my tires on account of those stupid aluminum rims, but think I might forgo that tomorrow and run on forty something pounds as opposed to the required 65. If I wreck them, I am not that concerned as once my winter tires go on, I doubt that I will be using the summer tires again.

Loader the salt spreader the bed of the dump truck today... it's a 2yard Downeaster and has been a headache for the past 3 years...always something breaking or not working. This year it started ( new motor last year ) ..but wouldn't spin the conveyor chain. ..at closer inspection, the chain is in need of replacement. As is several bearings in the spinner and while I'm at it, probably the idler bearings and drive bearings too. I just may say screw it and get a new one tomorrow...but it will most certainly not be a pony motor. Probably go all electric this time.

I have a TARCO FAB 3 stainless sander, it's only a one yard unit but it has worked well for me.

Not something I need but....

We have 7 inches on the ground here in SE Michigan and it's still snowing. How quaint. Supposed to be fall, not January:thumbdown:

10* tonight. Not much snow.

Opening day on the 15th. Going to stay cold.

Have a few more totes of firewood to move and then the new pull blower goes on. Marker stakes got installed this past weekend

Need to get the diesel fuel storage tank filled.
