LOOK AT MY HAY FIELD

My hay field was looking great yesterday then a storm came thru with wind/rain . I am located in northeast ohio we had a dry window to bale hay the problem was before the dry spell we had couple inches rain ,well some tried to bale and they had wet spots in the bales .

So I am waiting for the next dry window to get my hay baled ,then this storm came thru .

What do you think will happen to this hay ?????????????????
timothy/alfalfa hay
few pics first was taken the day before the storm

I've seen them bounce right back up. Likely depends on what growing stage it is in at the time. But it is sad to see it so great one day and flat the next.
Oats are often different, and don't recover well. Sometimes just have to mow it coming from one direction if it is still down at hay time.

This should dry out and there is a good chance the grass will stand up for the sun ...a few days will tell all....Good Luck !!

Some of mine looks the same way. You should be fine, it’ll come back with time.

You have a chance of salvaging most of the crop if you find someone with a drum mower to mow it. The drum mowers create more suction than a disc mower. Have them tilt the mower 5 degree forward and crank the RPM's. I have been exactly there where you are but was happy with the results.
