My sweet corn was almost knee high on June 1st, when a string of severe thunderstorms knocked it clean down to the dirt then pummeled it with hail and heavy rain. It is now 2 days later and it is mostly back upright.

Grasses have a good ability to right themselves after being pummelled like that.

Thanks for all the replys hopefully this crazy weather will dry out soon and I can get it cut ,lots of rain today everything is flooded next week looks like it might dry out:thumbsup:

few pics from last year happy with my TN 55 wish it had a little more horsepower for a disc mower though would like to up-grade one day from my old 469 haybine.

It could handle 7 or maybe a 8 ft disc mower just fine. That is a nice baler you have also. Ken Sweet

Ken thanks I am happy with all my equipment so far would like a discbine you think that tractor will handle a smaller discbine ???????
looked on New Holland website and they are saying 70 hp or bigger do not want to buy another tractor. day

If the hay doesn't stand back up, try to find a New Idea Cut/Ditioner. They will pick up downed hay, cut it and crimp it to allow good drying. Some farmers keep them around for just that purpose or to mow corn stalks or simply because they are worth more than you can sell them for especially in this market. Typically can find one for sale for under $1500.

I think the New Holland site is probably right. We pull at 9 ft JD disc bine with 90+ hp and we know it is back there on these Ky hills and hollows. Ken Sweet
