Hello! Newbie here.

I just bought my first CUT and want to start building my attachment inventory. I want to pull my trailer behind my tractor when I cut firewood so my first purchase is going to be a 3 point to trailer hitch. I was surfing the net looking for one and came across one called the OMNI hitch. It really looks well built but what I really liked about is the accessories that are available. When its time to cut firewood I could keep my trailer space empty and still have my saw and gas can with me. Before I commit I was hoping for some input from other members.

I found it by searching 3 point hitch on EBAY but I think it would be faster to just search for OMNI Hitch.

Any comments?

Well it looks like a pretty stout attachement. I don't have the Omni hitch but I did build the same thing with a TPH draw bar and a receiver. I use it to pull the log splitter, a trailer, move a horse trailer and sometimes to skid logs to the splitting area.

Welcome redshoe! I am not much less of a newbie than you but I will throw in my 2 cents worth anyhow.

That hitch looks like it is really well built. The multi-use platform is an interesting concept. I guess depending on the attachments you will be adding in the future will have an impact on the decision to buy one. If you need a trailer hitch now that would be one reason to buy it. If a tool rack, ripper or subsoiler is in your future (I don't know what the cultipacker might turn out to be) then you would save the cost of additional 3 point a-frames compared to buying 2 or 3 separate implements. I have seen trailer hitches for less money but remember the old adage you get what you pay for.

It looks like a fairly new product so there probably isn't a lot of buyers experience out there.

I built this for my tractor out of scrap metal. I use to pull logs in, to pull post, with forks, with a platform for hauling & moving trailers. If you can use a welder you can make your own real cheap.

While it is a nice strong looking unit, I am in the camp with oldmax. Even if you can not weld take a picture to a welder an see what they would build one for, have to believe it would be less expensive. Also if you want a quickhitch it could be made to fit it.
