Hey guys,
I am getting ready to do my 50 hour service on the BX. I was wondering if you need to change everything (fuel filters, air filter, front axle fluid, motor oil and filter, hydro fluid and filter) or just go buy the manual. The manual says to change only the motor oil and filter, hydro fluid and filter, and clean the pick up screen on the suction side of pump. I feel no need to change the fuel filters right now but I am a fanatic when it comes to preventative maintenance. Also does anybody know what size the head on the filter screen bolt is?? Thanks for the help!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Didn't you get a manual with the tractor? If so, that's your guide...if you didn't get a manual, I suggest you get one.

Brian; I have followed the manual as you have outlined with no ill effects. I tend to be a fanatic about engine oil and filters, I change mine every 50 hours. The rest of the maintainence is by the book. I have 547 hours on my BX 2200.
The size in the strainer nut? Sorry, all I can tell you is that it was bigger than any wrench I have. I used an adjustable wrench /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

There is some variation between the various maintenance
schedules I have seen. But of those, all called for a
change of engine oil, hydraulic fluid (+HST), and front axle
oil, with engine, hydro, and HST filter change at 50 hours.
