On-line map that shows and names rivers, creeks, tributaries?

I have the Delorme Atlas & Gazetteer of WA state. It shows even the small ones and the official names. I have many map books - AAA, Rand McNally etc and the Delorme is the best by far. For an on-line search I think publications by USGS will be the most detailed.

Are the names of creeks and streams "official"? I'm aware of multiple names for some around me.

That opens a can of worms. :laughing::laughing::laughing:

We have two creek's in our county that are within a few miles of each other with very similar but slightly different names. There are roads that share the names and that really causes problems. I have heard from older people who have lived here for generations that the map makers used the wrong name for one of the creeks. :confused3: There are some other creeks in a different part of the county where I have heard the same thing. The local people used one name but the cartographer used another.
