On-line shopping for appliances

I bought all new kitchen appliances online, too, a few months ago. I did all the comparison shopping, went to local dealers who also couldn't meet the prices and then bought online. If anything goes wrong, you have to call the manufacturer (or schedule an appointment for service online) anyway. I buy a lot of things online these days if no one local has it, or the prices are much better. I would like to support the local businesses but not if it will end up costing me 60% more (kitchen floor). My neighbor bought his NH tractor online because the local dealer wasn't willing to deal on the price.

Great to hear. I buy a lot online anymore, or at least find the company online, such as for my pallet forks and tooth bar. I have bought appliances online from Sears. they offer a lot more models online and they deliver to the house. Warranty is the same.
I have saved thousands buying furniture direct from NC instead of from the local stores.
One sort of bad experience, I bought a goKart online. The engine wouldn't run from day one. The people I bought it from said take it to an authorized repair center (tecumseh) so I did. They fixed it, but refused to do in on warranty, they claimed I put bad gas in it, which caused the problem. Now mind you, the problem was a gummed up carborator on an engine I had just bought....hum...
I was forced to pay for the repair in order to get my goKart back from them. I filed complaints with BBB that did no good.
I took the matter to tecumseh, who refunded my money directly. The local repair shop was just getting at me because I bought the goKart online and not from them, even though they didn't sell any models similar.
