My wife had gained a bit of weight so for Christmas I bought her a bathroom scale. Ya I had a bit to learn in those days too and like you I'm still learning.........

Even a new vacuum cleaner would have been a slightly better choice than a scale.

My father told me to never buy my wife an appliance, vacuum cleaner, etc... for Christmas. I asked why? He just said to trust him and gave me a wink.

So nowadays, it's usually fuzzy slippers, a new bathrobe, a warm blanket, mittens, hat, scarf set, something like that for Christmas. Something she can use daily NOT doing chores. Jewelry and vacation on wedding anniversary. Candy and flowers on Valentine's Day. Something nice for the yard on her birthday like park bench, swing, planters, things she'll see all year for years to come. I finally got if figured out after 40 something years.... or so she'd have me believe! :laughing:

You're not going to believe this, but that's what Sharn Jean got me for Christmas this year. I got her a kitchen remodel.
