Harv I hate to hear about your truck, It must be goin around, my 74 Ford F600 threw the pto seal and also broke the hitch frame. I do have a little info on the loader tractor you showed us, I thinks its a Clark, Yale,or Maybe and Eimco loader for seed or any other item thats stored inside a ware house or paved yard. THeir used to be a similar machine here at the cotton gin. Eimco made a loader like that that was for mines but it sat on rails and was an over shot loader, as it hoisted the load over the cab and you backed uo to the truck ith no turning. They also made a few yard loaders. If I have your permission to download your pictures of it I may know a fella that can pinpoint it for you. Take care hope you have a great time on the remainder of your trip.

And what was that talk awhile back about the Fords not being reliable, LOL. Just kidding you. Sorry to hear about the trouble. It really sucks to have a new truck and have it die like that!!

Moss,

I put thirty or so miles on a bud's 03 four door Hemi a week or so ago and loved the power but hated the ride. It had the twenty inch wheels.

The one from Enterprise was a four wheel drive four door Hemi with the seventeen inch wheels. It was a much smoother riding truck. I strongly suspect Enterprise has messed with the puter to detune it a bit too. Bud's would light them up anytime below twenty with just a foot to the floor motion. This one would light them up but not after fifteen or so.

The one today and yesterday had seventeen thousand miles on it. At one of my stops a retailer pointed out I had a bad tire on the right rear. Evidently a previous user had done a serious burn out and that tire was burnt down to next to nothing and what was there was real gummy. I was told that's one of the side affects of cloroxing for a burn out.

But even with the miles and the fact that it was a rental vehicle it was very tight in ride and fit. The only thing I didn't like with either one was the exhaust tone. It doesn't have the belly roar of a flowmaster system but it is louder than what is pleasing to a fifty five year old's ears.

I can't see me with a half ton anything. But if I was to go looking for one I would definately look at the Dodge with the Hemi real hard.

Taylor,

If I get a chance on the way home I'll stop by and take a real close look at them to see if they're like you suspect, an over the shoulder boulder loader. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It is a mining area after all. Use the pictures all you want.

Doc, why is it I knew you'd pipe in? Actually the first two thoughts across my mind when I realized the truck was seriously ill was wax will mess up anything and some of my words were going to be like crow, tuff to chew.

What it turned out to be was bad fuel. Evidently either the Chevron in Soccoro New Mexico or more likely, the Chevron in Show Low Arizona gave me some real trash. They said the filter was almost a hundred percent plugged.

I've got an extra filter because you and I both know it's going to take at least two filters to get all the rest of that garbage out of the system.

As a side note. I don't know about the sales side of the house but the commercial service department at Midway Chevrolet is loaded with some of the nicest and most professional people I've ever had to deal with. If you're in Phoenix or going through and have a problem with a GM product I would go out of my way if necessary to deal with them.

The staff at Enterprise was outstanding as usual. Walmart might be the largest publicly owned company but Enterprise is the largest private one. Every dealing I've had with them makes me understand why.

Yesterday we stopped in Dewey, just south of Prescott. Prescott is famous for it's weather, scenery, and rodeos.

One of the neatest things I saw there gave me hope. One of these days I too will detire. At that time I hope I will be able to still interact with later generations.

And there's a sandwich/ice cream shop that makes the biggest best banana split I've ever found. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Nice pictures, Harv.

Wish you were here Bird. We're about to saddle up and head Lucy towards Tucson for a visit. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Youngs Farm in Dewey has the neatest fall festival of about anywhere. It was so much fun to watch the kids interacting with all the farm stuff. The little girl on the mechanical bull was too much to not take a picture. The barrel train behind the tractor was hilarious. I'm not who was having the most fun. There was the kids, the conductor--engineer with a grin you couldn't take off with dynamite, and all those parents and grandparents double timing in tow with cameras a clicking, hissing, and whirring.

Miss Glenda got a real deal on a denim jacket /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. It got some roasted hatch peppers. And Lucy had a ball. The traffic guides were female and on horseback. It might have been me but I strongly suspect the smiles they gave us were for the chrome and red show off I was piloting.

I've got some great photos of tractors pulling hay ride trailers. But the internet provider for my father is five degrees beyond terrible. I finally gave up posting photos. It's too long and patience is the one virtue some folks thing I missed the line on.

You learn something everyday. Nobody told me there was a town in AZ named after me /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Glad you enjoyed it. Sounds like the townsfolk are doing my namesake proud.
