onan ignition function and problems

Have woodmizer sawmill and would like someone to tell me how the ignition module functions. I know how to test it but how does it function with the two magnets in the doughnut on the crankshaft. These electronic modules are notorious for failure.

For a member to respond, we'd need to know what engine powers your unit as for shure Woodmizer offered many engine options.
IE. Briggs, Onan, etc stc.
