Found a house in NH that had a boulder in the basement the size of a VW. the builders (200 years ago) just built the basement around the rock.

I think I would've moved the house over 30'. But then again maybe the people always wanted a rock the size of a VW in their basement even though they didn't know what a VW was at the time.

Anyone with too many large rocks is free to come dump them on my land anytime! Larger than basketballs only, please (but smaller than VWs).

Move the house over thirty feet today when basements are dug with an excavator. Two hundred years ago they were probably tired from digging with a pick and shovel and said, "You have a large rock in your basement".

This was my only option at the time. You do have a good point with the frost. I guess if I see the rock poking out again I will just have to dig another "deep hole" and cover it again. In 20 to 30 years my kids can worry about it....lol I will have make sure I give them the tractor in my will.
