One less Kubota

Kubota doesn't require anything other than a loader and the heavy duty 3PH top link anchor on the 3010 when using the 4972 and 4690 BHs, both of which are 3PH mount. If this broke it I'd love to know.

If the owner put something like a woods 9000 or a larger Bradco using a 3PH mount then he was asking for trouble. If he didn't also have a loader on them he was asking for trouble.

Let us know what you find.

My brother works for a NH dealer and he has told me of a number of compact tractors with back hoe's that have broke. From what he said it sounds like the damage came almost as much from driving too fast over rough ground as it did from digging. A bucket full of material and a heavy hoe on the back puts a lot of strain on connecting parts if there is no sub-frame. Checking bolt tigthness is probably a good safety measure.

If it's ruggedly built and properly attached, apparently you can do just about anything with it.

Can't remember who originally posted the attached pict, but I love it. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

That's impressive! I would not want to be the one who sat in the drivers seat to twist that thing in or out of that position. I don't like it when I lift one of the Kubota's hind feet off the ground with the loader, I can't even imagine doing that on purpose.

Hayden,

Tell me more about the HD topmast anchor for the 4690 bh on a L3010? I just traded my B2710 for the 3010 and the dealer used the stock mast anchor when he changed backhoe from one tractor to the other. Do you have a part number for that anchor? I specifically asked if a special anchor was required and he was definite that a different one was not required! He said the B2710 required one but not the L3010.

Besides the heavy duty top link (which is basically a thick, adjustable, heavy, steel bar) kubota also recommends the additional reinforced 3pt attachment plate in place of the standard one on the tractor. The standard plate is attached by 6 bolts. The recommended one also attaches by the same 6 bolts but also extends up higher and into existing bolt holes located under the seat on the rear housing.

I've not seen a Kubota with a Kubota hoe on it broken yet. Just aftermarket and with all makes compacts.

That attachment plate is what I was trying to describe. Thanks for doing it better.

The manual for my 4690A (also covers 4672A) says the brackets are required for the L3010. It calls for both the Heavy Duty top link bracket PLUS spacers/braces under the top of the top link bracket.

Part numbers are:

70050-94877 (qty 1) - Heavy Duty Top Lnk Bracket
70050-94887 (qty 2) - spacers
70050-94384 (qty 1) - RH brace
70050-94385 (qty 1) - LH brace

Plus a pile of metric bolts and washers to hold it all together.

Good luck,

Peter
