Thanks to those in the past that had emailed me with manufacturer information for where I could get this. I've searched here to find it - but perhaps I'm not searching for it right. If it wasn't for my change in laptops recently and losing some email archives, I'd still have it now that I'm looking to purchase one.

If anyone still has the links or manufacturer's information, please post it here or email it to me. Thanks!

LAGeorge -

Thanks! I called and spoke to Jerry at Bad River today. I ordered my 3-Pt Hitch Receiver and it should (hopefully) be here on Saturday. It was a pleasure talking with him and I can only hope that the product is as good the service he provided.

Thanks again -

There's another outfit John Miller III used to tout as a supplier of the same kind of hitch. I seem to recall the price being somewhere in the $30-35 range. You might be able to find threads here which had pictures if you do a search.

Here's the contact information;

I think I'm going to try to make my own. I'm taking a MIG welding class now and this looks like it'd be a great project. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I went with the Bad River Hitch and I'm very happy with it. The unit came via UPS 2 days after I ordered it and I've already used it to move some trailers. This is really slick and encourage anyone interested in a 3-pt trailer receiver to look into this.

Thanks again for the information on Bad River!

The safety chain feature of the Bad River unit is a great idea. Suitcase weights are what I have used to keep trailer tongues from raising up. The chain idea would work much better.

The Bad River website says their safety chain is attached to a "swinging" drawbar. Is there some reason why the OEM fixed drawbar would not work /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif?? It seems to me the left/right sway of the Three Point Hitch is small enough that a fixed draw bar would work OK (assuming the swinging drawbar is intended to follow the sway of the TPH). Any opinions??

OkieG -

I'm not sure about a "swinging drawbar" - the fixed drawbar works fine and the bolt/chain affixes to that on my 4600.

The sway I think you're referring to is the fact that the three point arms can sway without the stablizers on them. My three point arms have locking stabilizers that allow me adjust it for the width of the bar (which in this case is 26").

I'm really pleased with the Bad Unit - for the price it was well worth it.

Bob,
Thanks for your feedback! I have a light duty hitch receiver (no longer in use) from an old pick-up, and a general purpose 3pt hitch frame. I may fashion a unit similar to the Bad hitch. I am pleased to hear the fixed drawbar works fine for you. It seems to me like it should work fine, also.

Thanks again.

Bob, I don't like the terminology used and don't know why the industry has not changed it, but a "swinging drawbar" is the drawbar that sticks straight out the back and is usually attached to the bottom of the differential. I guess it got that name because on a lot of bigger tractors, it's attached with a pin at the front, but can be swung to either side and then pinned in place. That allows implements to be towed off set to either side. On most, if not all, compact tractors, that drawbar is fixed in place to stick straight out the back and cannot "swing" at all. Just a plain "drawbar" is the one that goes between the two lower links on the 3-point hitch.

There's a guy who sells them on Ebay, I bought one recently. I'm sure he builds them but the look great. It is designed to use your receiver or ontop of the hitch you an hook a 5th wheel for your horse trailer. Mine was around $100 with shipping.
