In the thread on front and rear tire differences, old age and cracking were mentioned. Is it worth the trouble to cover them when not in use. This is much of the time depending on season and weather. I have cut up a heavy old tarp to make covers for the back wheels. I'm guessing they are a bit more expensive than the fronts. It seems this should be worth while but sometimes common sense gets trumped because of my lack of experience.

Well, Ron - on my first tractor both the front & rear tires were in excellent shape - no cracking etc - after 25 years. The tractor was always stored in a shed with the tires being out of the sun. You better believe my new Kubota receives the same treatment. On my tractor - fronts are - $350 each, rears are - $1250 each.

I think protecting them from sun is a great idea. Just make sure there is air flow
