When snowblowing it plugs the screen cover for the battery that is also the air inlet for the radiator. keeping the gauge clear of snow helps in keeping track of this. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem?

One way to reduce that problem is to remove the screen and then remove the bottom plate that is in front of the battery and cover the intake screen with fabric. If you have a cab you have to do that otherwise all of the heated air gets sucked right back out of the cab......I imagine it would also cut down on snow blockage of the screen if you don't have a cab....just a thought.

That is fine for the winter because there is little to no dirt in cold winter air.

I never thought about the heat on the tractors and it being sucked out!

Am I going to cause any other problems by taking that plate off underneath. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

More debris clogging the rad in the summer maybe?

Should not be a problem as the snow will have a harder time swirling under the tractor. You have to remember to put the plate back on in spring otherwise the grass and other debris will clog up the radiater.
The plate removal is mentioned in the directions for the Curtis cab installation.

sounds like a good idea, off in the winter and on in the summer.
