Online Purchasing - Shipping issues

Newbie in process of ordering new TLB from Carver. does anybody have any exeriences they would like to share concerning their purchase from them? Any issues? How were they handled? In general, does Internet purchasing of tractors compare with car purchases? Negotiated last two car purchases on line with good success. Anybody have opinion? Have visited local Kioti dealer to discuss price..not even competitive.

Located in PA. Have read alot about Kioti and spent sometime checking out CK20 vs bota bx23 for general homeowner duties. Probably overkill for my needs but am getting caught up in the whole tractor thing..Thinking is any of these machines if maintained will give many, many years of service.

I bought a tooth bar (Woods) through Carver..fast and courteous service!

I also bought my 790 online (not through Carver though). I got a pretty good deal, but shipping costs can negate any savings and your local dealer may not give you that extra service he would give his own customers.

I was pretty lucky...the sales guy was coming from southern VA (dealer location) to PA for a scouting trip anyway, so he brought the 790 with him. My shipping costs were reduced by about 60%-70% since I just had to pay for the truck rental.

Shipping will cost you $1.50 to $2.00 per loaded mile (guesstimate based upon shipping costs I investigated on an out of state tractor purchase). With fuel costs so high, it might be a bit more now.

I'm not sure where you are in PA, but you will find that around here you will find pricing thats as good is not better without having to go 600 miles away.

I did buy a used bx-23 with a lot of stuff from Carver in May this year. Paid in full before delivery as they have a bulletproof reputation.

Once they receive a deposit from you it's just like a machine starting up. Prompt answers, reports on their schedule for your tractor, info about shipping and more.

Living in Norway and having to wait for two months before it arrived here, it sure was important to find a serious dealer that was willing to help out even when I was so far away.

I also got very good information from them on shipping in the USA with various options. I took care of it from the export harbour.

As I received the tractor I must say that I was impressed. It's condition was better than described and the implements I had ordered was attatched real good to it. Someone obviusly had put some hours into MY tractor-buying to give me the very best, And that I'm very happy about.

So far only one issue has come up and it was solved promptly and without any cost for me.

You will be in good hands with this dealer.

Thanks for all the input. Pricing quoted included shipping to Pa. So far dealer has been responsive and professional. I guess online sales/purchasing can work well when you have solid seller and engaged buyer. Will know for sure in a cple weeks.

Check with your agent but if you use it only on, and to maintain, the resident premises it should be covered. Do a search on the forum for "insurance" for more details.
