....and they don't let the add run 3-4 weeks until renew..NOOOO they renew it every few days. I keep seeing this local motorhome listed for $119K...looks nice but they've been relisting it every few days for months. Time to come down on price grandpa.

They don't need to keep renewing it, people will find it if they're looking for it. I sold some atv tires awhile back on CL and had a good many calls about them even though my add was way down on the list, it still popped up when people searched for "atv tires". Me bumping it to the top every couple of days wasn't going to help me sell it any faster. I will say I thought I had those tires sold 4 times but the "interested party" never bothred to contact me on the day they said they would to meet up and I wasn't going to chase them down. Finally sold them to a fella who called me up and said he wanted them and came to get them that very afternoon. If only it was that easy all the time.

Just last night bought a used Bowflex off Craigslist. We wanted $60, and was less than 10 miles away. He agreed to $50, and helped load.

A big problem for me with Craigslist is location. I have to search 6 different locations to get my general area. Gainesville, Ocala, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Daytona, and Valdosta. Mostly because small towns 10 miles away from me tend to list in different cities.

Would be nice if I could search 50 mile radius from my zip code.

I actually have a craigslist app on my phone that I can make a list of search cities then when I search for something it's one button that will scroll to the next city then the next city using the same search terms. For that reason I sometimes prefer using my phone to the pc.

There are three basic pieces of information most people need to determine if they are interested, how old is it, what shape is it in and how much is it.

FOUR) Where is the item located?

It all comes down to how many viewers they would like to consider buying their item. If an item is half a day away I am much less interested. Good pictures also gets my interest.

OTOH,,,,,

Good items that are presented poorly, and lame titles don't get much interest, and the seller may be equally clueless about the value of the item. And may be lucky to get any offers at all.

Check out this forklift listed locally for the last two or three years, No kidding, recently he lowered the price $25, like $1900 did not work for 2 years, lets try $1875. Makes me chuckle. I think if he pulled it out of the mud, took off the tire chains and removed the patio umbrella and listed it for $1200 it would be sold. The picture just speaks volumes.....

I see guys selling "new" things for about equal to what you could have it delivered to your front door. I point this out to them and they still won't budge on the price. I say to them "What fool would pay the same or more, have to drive to pick up, and get no warranty rather than just click the mouse and have a brand new warranted item at his doorstep?". He says "There's plenty of them." I guess he is right, the ads. continue to show up and folks must be buying. Not me.

Lots of rusty, unlicensed, no title, $200 HF trailers, with a weathered plywood deck, for $300-$400 around here.

Yup that thing looks like if you bought it, it would just sit, brokedown. Show it somewhere without junk in the background, actually doing something useful for example with some heavy item lifted in the air.

Simple marketing, not everyone is capable. That's no surprise (a blessing actually).

I was browsing through Craigslist this morning and some guy wanted to sell a cultipacker. He attached a picture showing it in snow so deep, all you could see was the top link hookup sticking out of the snow
