Hello,

I found what I consider the "best buy" in core aerators. Sears sells a very heavy-duty model that has all the features you would want in a pull behind corer. Plus it has a three year warranty!

I almost bought the areator, referred to above, at Sears. It's a nice areator but I decided that I did not want to store something like that and only use it once a year. I rented a very heavy duty tow behind plug areator from a local equipment rental store for $22 per 4 hours. I got the job done in 2 hours. I much prefer to own all of my equipment but I found, in this case, it really made a lot of sense to rent.

jmt1271,

What does your cc dealer say about the manual sleeve hitch attachment for your cc 3200? The cc web site list only a cat. 0 3 point hitch for the 3200 model. Maybe a sleeve hitch isn't made to be fitted on the 3200 model. You might just have to settle for the cat. 0 3 point hitch. There are various attachments made for this type of setup. Also, a local fabrication shop might be able to make you some type of a sleeve hitch.

jmt1271,

Here's my 2 cents. I've used both a manual and hydralic sleeve hitch. I, personally, prefer a hydralic sleeve hitch over a manual. In your other post you mention about using ground engaging attachments for a small garden and clearing land/brush. Some of these ground engaging attachments require you to add weight to enhance the attachment's performance. Hence, the more weight the harder it is to pull up the attachment manually.

Brinly-Hardy makes some ground engaging attachments for the cat. 0 3 point hitch that your cc 3200 calls for. This might be the direction or choice that you should make. You can put a draw bar between the lower arms on a 3 point hitch to pull attachments behind your 3200. Such as areators, rollers, spreaders and dethatchers. Personally, I wish I had the cat. 0 3 point hitch myself.

jmt1271,

Are you thinking that the cat. 0 hydralic 3 point hitch is a sleeve hitch? Here are the part numbers for the electric sleeve hitch and 3 point hitch from the cc web site. 2500 series electric sleeve hitch: 190-827, and 190-207 for the cat. 0 hydralic 3 point hitch. I don't know if the 2500 series electric sleeve hitch will fit the 3200. Your cc dealer should know this info. Like I said before, when you are dealing with picking up a lot of weight, hydralic is the only way to go. I hope this info helps you.

I purchased a cc2554 and the electric sleeve hitch in Dec05. My previous tractor had the manual sleeve hitch. For me, I like the electric hitch much, much better.
My dealer installed a toggle switch on the dash board to operate the hitch...works like a charm.
With the manual hitch, I had to remove the deck in order to use an attachment. With the electric, the deck can stay on.
The electric hitch from CC is pricey, around $950 or so, but for my money, it was worth it.
Also, I own some Brinly attachments and some made by Agri-Fab.
I purchased a core aerator with drum (holds water for weight). Previously, I had a core aerator which required weights, such as cinder blocks. I find the "drum" type much better for my purposes.
