Open cab storage

Very nice mod, BethelHntr! I think all of us wish we had more cup holders.

Coyote Machine, my DK45 is 2008 vintage -- out of warranty. Here's the seat:

Here's a pic of the little OEM toolbox when the backhoe is installed. Not much room for any other storage between the seats.

Thank You Schweizer. The new DK's don't have that storage area you have to the left of the seat (at least mine does'nt), That's why I figured cup holders would work for stuff as well as drinks.

I hear ya with the room between the seats, It also seems to shrink a little when the backhoe flexes from taking a big bite.

So you replaced the entire seat? What did you replace it with? Did you toss the OEM seat?

No, I haven't done anything yet. Any suggestions?

Recovering is always a option if you have a local upholster.

Sure, find a place that does vinyl seat repairs, boat upholstery, etc. they should be able to replace the material and stuff in more foam where needed. Shouldn't cost too much; I had my boat's leaning post done reasonably. I've never seen a Kioti seat do that, maybe others who might have can chime in?

Oh, and I thought of putting some sheepskin seat covers over the existing seats. You could use some low gloss Armor-All on them before doing so, to keep what's left of the OEM seatcovers from completely disintegrating...

Here are a couple of the storage modifications I have done. Tool box behind seat and a chain and pin holder out of an Ammo can. The picture of the ammo can isn't the best to show how I mounted it, but I made a custom bracket that fit up to where an optional step would go. In fact I only had to drill to small holes for both modifications.
