Pictures of the installed culvert. The spring water is coming in now around the culvert where the gravel was placed. When that gets clogged up it will come out the culvert which is 1" below the water level (well, that's the plan anyway). The part you see sticking out is the connecting piece with a screen on top to keep animals from falling in the 6' by 30" culvert.

Are you going to smooth the banks and seed them with grass to control erosion? I had some steep banks that took years to cover on their own with weeds and got quite a bit of dirt washing back into the pond.

I did!!!!

But the rains came before the grass grew.
I guess you're suggesting a repeat.
More seat time, not a problem......:D

Well, it looks like your crushed rock actually aided grass seed to sprout. Perhaps the mud silted in the gravel and held long enough for the seeds to germinate. If you have more gravel to spread a thin layer, you might slow the erosion and get germination the next time you re-seed. Just a thought. . . . BTW: The water level looks perfect. When it clears, you'll have an even prettier little pond.

Thanks Jim. Where there is mostly sand the water is brown where there is black clay the water is green. Here is a pic of the other pond I cleaned out with the FEL. I still have dam dirt work to do. The water is 4' deep and has another 6' more to rise (it will be up to the two small trees on the right) before it goes over the spillway. The clay pond water is clear/green and I can see the bottom.

Did you ever get back to laying the pavers on your driveway?

I finished the inner and outer curbing. Today I put the first sectional cross beam in, later this week the second cross beam and then starting the new year a new thread "Laying the first of 10,000 pavers!:D

Last Saturday I tested the heart and ran a 5 mile hilly trail run in the morning and mixed, poured and worked 41 bags of cement in the afternoon. One day rest and good to go again....
