Opening up land for a garden and orchard

First little snowfall of the season. Time to put the garlic in the ground before it freezes.

Not much going on. Nothing to update.

The dog keepin watch for squirrel and rabbits.

Nothing really going on here. The ground is frozen and covered in some snow.

Got some more field plowed today. Was worried it might be too wet, but I think it was ok. It was getting dark by the time I was done. Might snap some other pics tomorrow.

The plan is to get some rye or some other type of cover crop in the ground.

Some progress of land prep happened.

The wife is redoing the plans. I think were planting loads of wildflowers now and maybe rye. This all means im clearing more of the meadow and moving the orchard further up the hill.

Original orchard plot. Repurpose for family garden. Its was tilled once over roughly then back through half way with a deeper till. Still have half to finish.

Got some more rough tilling done for the wildflower/rye/grass area.

Finally transplanted the strawberries that we grew in a big planter pot from tiny seedlings 3 years ago.

My "helpers" were so "helpful".

The Rye is starting to sprout!

The rest of the seed needs more rain.....which we should get tonight through this weekend.
