Years ago I had a manual for a Winco generator that ran at 1800 rpm. The manual stated that at 1800 rpm, one hour of run time was equivalent to 40 miles. Since then I use that as a rough estimate for engines. I think that is close enough for government work.

But is the generator running under 0 load, 50 % load or 100% load?
It would make a difference in wear and tear.

The last big truck I owned had an N14-460 HP Cummins engine. I loved that it had a small screen on the dash that displayed various things, including miles to the next oil change, based on gallons of fuel burned. The harder it worked, the shorter the oil change interval.
